Join us for an inspiring seminar to introduce you to ABRSM’s new Piano Syllabus for 2027 & 2028.

The only official ABRSM presentation on the ABRSM Piano Syllabus presented by an ABRSM Examiner in Oxfordshire.

This session offers an in‑depth exploration of the updated repertoire, examining new highlights and much-loved favourites

The pieces have been carefully chosen to develop your students’ musical curiosity, strengthen technical foundations and broaden stylistic awareness. Practical teaching strategies will be shared throughout, including approaches to introducing unfamiliar styles and developing holistic ideas that balance technique with creativity. Whether you are preparing candidates or seeking fresh inspiration, this seminar provides a valuable head start in engaging with ABRSM’s next syllabus.

Your Presenter:

Liz Hayes has enjoyed a very varied career as a pianist. She is Accompanist in Residence at Radley College, Oxfordshire, working with young musicians there to support the many performances and exams in a very active music department. After studying with Phyllis Sellick at the Royal College of Music she began a busy career as a soloist, with recitals and concerto performances at venues across the UK including QEH, The Purcell Room, St. Johns Smith Square, Snape Maltings and Fairfield Halls. Winning the Dudley International Piano Competition opened up further recital work, including regular appearances for P&O Cruises, and she also began to perform more frequently as a collaborative pianist, working particularly with mezzo-soprano Christine Cairns and clarinettist Chris Atkinson. She has always enjoyed working within musical education as a teacher and adjudicator, and has been an examiner, trainer, reviewer and presenter for ABRSM since 2000.
