The Adults in the Room: The Role of Parents and Carers in Early Childhood Family Music
Date: Monday 6 July
Time: 11am - 12pm BST
Price: Free
This interactive webinar explores the distinctive nature of family music, placing adults at the heart of musical experience in early childhood (0-5). You will reflect on the concept of musical parenting, considering adults as participants, learners and co-leaders, and explore how family music differs from work in Early Childhood settings away from parents and carers.
Through practical examples and discussion, the session will address common barriers to engagement and offer clear, adaptable strategies for involving parents and carers with confidence.
By the end of the session, you will:
- Understand key principles of family music practice.
- Be better equipped to engage and support parents and carers.
- Gain practical strategies and adaptable activity ideas.
- Benefit from shared insights with fellow practitioners.
The Family Music Hub (TFMH) is led by Katie Neilson, Nicola Burke and Rosie Adediran, and is dedicated to supporting anyone who includes music in their work with young children and their families.
